Might need to tweak the "censorship" module

I stumbled across an odd quirk in the Forum's "censorship" module: it appears to censor the word "a-s-s-e-t", presumably figuring that it relates to the the first three letters. The same thing happens with the word "a-s-s-u-m-e". I wonder if you might tweak the module so that words like these can pass through the censor filter? Before this, I didn't even realize that there was a filter on the forum postings, so I guess that it is actually working just fine otherwise, and not very intrusive.

Phil.

fixed it. Reason it it did that was because it was setup as a wildcard. So if it had that word anywhere in a word, it would censor it. At any rate, it's fixed now.

hi vrillusions

"a-s-s" is still being censored, so cla-s-s becomes cla, a-s-sembler becomes embler. Crying or Very sad

This is a bug in the new version that I upgraded to. They have been made aware of it and waiting for a resolution. In the meantime, type the words as usual. The filter acts on the messages after they have been posted. What that means is once this is fixed, it will show up again. For now you will have to put up with cl(censored) Sad I might go ahead and trying to figure out myself if I get some free time.

This is the bug report on it:

Update on this...

Aparently the next version, which fixes this, will be out shortly. In the meantime I disabled the word censor for the more tollerable ones (i.e. I can't think of a good word that can be derived from the F word Smile ). That way the messages won't look messed up Smile

OK, I updated the software and the problem seems to be fixed. Let me know if you have any more problems with this.
