Greetings.

So, my wife has been clinging onto her Rex-3 for years. In the past, I've managed to keep Truesync running on an old Windows XP machine.

However, I recently had a corruption of the registry, which blew all my Starfish settings away. (The directories still exist under c:\Program Files.) When I finally cleaned up the registry, I noticed that True synch was no longer listed as a program in the Control Panel, along with tons of other software. I managed to recover the other stuff by simply reinstalling it, but the Truesynch stuff simply won't install from the original CD(s).

Symptoms:
CD autorun brings up the splash screen. Clicking on install Trusynch brings up the Demoshield splash screen, which lasts for about 5-seconds or so and then disappears. No other activity takes place. The Task Manager just shows SETUP.EXE sitting in the active state doing nothing

The OS is Windows XP, SP3.

Anybody got ANY ideas what the issue may be or a workaround?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
as you said about your pc, it must be affected by virus. the solution for that is it can be removed by some anti-virus software and you can re-install your window as upgrade so you will not going to lose your personal data.
you can use AVG or Quick Heal
as AVG AntiVirus :According to me, AVG Antivirus is the best because it detects mostly all the Virus and delete that virus.
AVG AntiVirus is really a nice antivirus i using it from last 2 years and because of that my PC run speedily....
