as all of you know, Dana's Rex6000 Help Page (www.rex6000.org) is an invaluable site that has lots of info, tips, downloads for Rex6000, though it has not been updated for quite some time. unfortunately, the site is down. although one can still access it thru www.archive.org, i've decided to make a copy of the entire site for the convenience of Rex users. you can now access it at rex6000.fortunecity.com.

all the contents are there, except for a few very big files which the new site is unable to host. and please bear with the ads, as this is a free hosting site.

Thanks Yiming! I have pointed a couple new users to the archive.org version in the past 6 months, and having a live public version working again (albeit with ads) is great.

Your ongoing work in support of the REX 6000 and the community is much appreciated.

Phil.

Thanks, yiming... Smile

I am glad you were able to get the site up again, I'm pleased that folks continue to find value in what we all created.

Hope all are well, and enjoying their REXs...

Thanks...I'm doing well, yiming. I know the community appreciates your continued support. I was able to show the site to one of my sons the other day (he's old enough now to get what it means to create and maintain a web site) and wouldn't have been able to have fun doing that w/out you keeping it going. I know for sure that there would not be very many people still enjoying their Rexes all these years later had it not been for your rex6000.org site and the community of users you supported there.

The Rex 6000 community has quieted down to barely a whisper in the past year or two, but there are still some stubborn holdouts against the onslaught of multi-purpose, shrinking cellphones and increasingly powerful PDAs/MP3 players/whatever....

So glad to hear that you are alive and well.

Much thanks for everything,

Phil.

grr stupid board not showing new posts properly

Glad you were able to resurrect it. How big is the whole site? I tried to access the site and one point and it was blocked because the current domain squatters had a robots.txt file excluding archive.org to archive the site (blocking out older revisions). Reason I ask is since this board is getting very little traffic, I could probably host that on here as well, and ad free. PM me if you want.

hi Todd

the whole site is about 33.5MB, which includes a few big downloads like Rex6000 v1.01 firmware, rexdk - the develpment tool. the 4 biggest files alone occupied 18M. some of these are now hosted on a separate free file storage site.

regards

Heh, guess I don't have my notifications set up right, didn't show any new pm's and I just happened to check it. 33mb isn't that bad but since it still seems to be working fine at the current site I don't see any real need to host it yet. Guess just keep a copy of it so if fortunecity starts complaining about it then I can gladly host it here. Even with the large files because the forum has been seeing less and less traffic. Now that I have an iPhone I don't even give the rex a second look. It served it's purpose well but.... iphone... c'mon Very Happy Maybe for ol' times sake I can set the carrier image to the rex6k since no one would get it Smile.
